EAT Merimbula 2019

Even more on our plate

EAT Merimbula is back again on Sunday March 10th and can you believe it… for a seventh year?!

The super popular Fishpen food festival celebrates local heroes with award-winning oysters and seafood, prime cuts from rich paddocks and sweet delights. Guests are encouraged to settle on a picnic blanket and savour something new.

2019 will see licensed mobile bar, Peisleys, partner with local beer brewing gurus Longstocking to deliver an updated bar area, conveniently within reaching distance of Sapphire Coast Wilderness Oysters.

For the locals and out of towners that return every year, EAT is as close to a religious experience as one can get. Captain Sponge, of Magical Oyster Tour fame, and this year’s poster pin up boy agrees. Gathering his robes and his basket of loaves and fishes, he proclaims it simply “heavenly food in a divine setting”.

EAT has always been about supporting and cultivating local providores and this year is no exception with newbies ‘A Pinch of Yum’ and indigenous caterer ‘Mirritya Mundya’ already deep in planning to make their mark.

After a great success in 2018, road closures will be similar again with Fishpen Road closed between Marine Parade and Calendo Court for the duration of the event.
